KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Deputies say a man tried to outrun them Friday night, but he didn't get far.

Authorities were serving a warrant on Jeremy Woody, 40, at West Parkway Avenue just before noon Friday. They say Woody then took off in a truck starting a chase.

Deputies tried to stop him, but they say Woody tried to drive around the cruiser and rammed into the side of it. Woody's vehicle then spun out of control and into a ditch.

Woody is in custody. He now faces several charges including aggravated robbery and aggravated assault on a police officer.
