NORRIS (WATE) - Crews in Anderson County worked to extinguish a fire at a historic home on Monday evening.
Firefighters told 6 News a passerby saw smoke at the home on West Circle Place around 5:25 p.m. and called it in to officials.
Crews were able to put out the fire on the first floor, but the flames spread to the second floor. The stair rail collapsed, so they weren't able to go upstairs.
No one was home at the time of the fire, but the home is occupied by residents.
There are no reported injuries, and the cause of the fire is unknown. The house is considered a total loss.
The Norris Fire Department, Andersonville Fire Department and Rural/Metro all responded to the fire.
