Another company sues Pilot Flying J over diesel fuel rebate scandal

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - An Alabama trucking company is the latest company to file suit against Knoxville-based Pilot Flying J for allegedly reducing rebates for diesel fuel purchases.

Lawyers for Osborn Transportation, Inc., based in Gadsden, Ala. filed suit Monday in U.S. District Court in Alabama.

The suit does not seek class-action status.

In the filing, the company says they lost more than $75,000 from Pilot.

The suit comes after Atlantic Coast Carriers filed a class-action suit, along with three other trucking companies. Attorney Mark Tate said he expected more companies to join the suit.

Pilot Flying J was the subject of an April 15 FBI raid after a whistleblower alerted federal officials that the company was not paying customers properly for rebates they earned for diesel fuel purchases.
