"Picture perfect" weather expected for Easter Sunday

Today’s forecast is just about “picture perfect”. We will see plenty of sunshine, light wind, low relative humidity values and highs right about where we should be for this time of year, so please enjoy it! The area of high pressure giving us this nice day will slowly drift eastward on Monday, but we should still see a lot of sunshine and temperatures in the low-mid 70s. It doesn’t last though as a cold front pushes into the area on Tuesday producing widespread showers and even a few thunder...More >>

RUTLEDGE (WATE) – Police in Rutledge say they have found a career criminal that was on the run from the authorities.

A few weeks ago, Capt. Randy Holt put up wanted posters for 24-year-old Thomas Coffey at local businesses.

Coffey was convicted in 2011 on 13 cases of auto burglary and two incidents of theft. He served time, then violated his probation.

Coffey is now a suspect in several recent local burglaries. Investigators also believe he has a serious drug problem.

"We believe he as well as the people he's with are on crystal meth. They are on a pure version of crystal meth and not handling it well at all. Once they're on meth, they are very paranoid and everything spooks them," Hold said.

Earlier this month, Thomas' brother Matthew Coffey was charged in several burglaries. Thomas has been linked to the same crimes.
