Knoxville burglary trio caught in Florida

LAKE CITY, Fla. (WATE) - Three people accused of multiple burglaries in Tennessee were arrested Thursday in Florida after high speed chase with state troopers.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a trooper was attempting to stop a red Chrysler going southbound on I-75 in Columbia County, Fla. just before 11 a.m. Thursday. The trooper says the vehicle nearly struck his cruiser and failed to stop.

After a chase at a high rate of speed, the Chrysler lost control and struck a stop sign before traveling across several lanes. Authorities say the driver Heath Sanchez, 29, then fled on foot before eventually being caught outside a Little Caesar's Pizza.

Florida state troopers took Sanchez as well as passengers Matthew Ladd, 24, and Lynnette Lee, 20, into custody.

Ladd has an active warrant for burglary including a $100,000 bond.

Investigators later discovered the vehicle was reported stolen from Knoxville on May 15. After conferring with the Knoxville Police Department, it was revealed the trio were on the run following several commercial burglaries in Tennessee.

Multiple items were found inside the vehicle including electronic equipment.

The three face multiple charges including grand theft, possession of marijuana, possession of stolen property, aggravated fleeing and eluding, reckless driving and DUI.

All three are being held at the Columbia County Jail with no bond.
