KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A Knox County school bus caught fire early Friday morning, but all students made it off the bus safely.

Bus 946 caught fire around 7:45 a.m. at the intersection of Pleasant Ridge Road and Bradshaw Garden Road.

The bus was transporting about 30 students to Powell Middle School and Powell High School at the time.

The students and bus driver were able to safely exit the front and rear of the bus.

Knoxville firefighters extinguished the fire, which they say started in the front, engine area of the bus.
