KNOXVILLE (WATE) - The Powerball jackpot hits a record high of $600 million and it could go even higher.

You have until 9:59 Saturday night to buy your Powerball tickets. Your chances of winning the jackpot are about 1 in 175 million, but your chances of winning some kind prize is 1 in 32.

Lottery officials say you need to sign your ticket as soon as you buy it.

Overall, Tennessee players have won more than $6 billion in prizes since the lottery started here in 2004. There have been seven $1 million tickets sold in Knoxville since then and one $2.9 million ticket back in 2009, all from different stores.

In Knox County alone, lottery officials say nearly 8,000 scholarships totaling almost $60 million shave been given out in the last nine years.

While this is the largest jackpot in Powerball history, there was an even larger Mega Millions jackpot last year when winners in Kansas, Illinois and Maryland spilt $656 million.
