MARYVILLE (WATE) - A Maryville man is dead after a fiery wreck on Saturday morning, according to a Tennessee Highway Patrol accident report.

Officials say James Pack III, 50, was driving his 2010 Infiniti eastbound on US Highway 321 near Tuckaleechee Pike around 2:30 a.m. 

Pack then ran off the left side of the road and traveled nearly 300 feet into the median.

His vehicle struck a bridge abutment, caught on fire and then traveled about 70 feet on top of the bridge rail.

The car then fell off the bridge and into a creek.

Officials say he was not wearing a seat belt.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
