KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Six horses were taken from a horse farm in East Knox County Wednesday. It's a place authorities have been in the past.

The farm owners Linda Cowell and Barry Smith have now been charged with violation their probation.

Last year, 35 horses were seized from the Voltz Lane farm. Smith and Cowell pled guilty to animal cruelty charges and were then put on probation. The farm was also put under quarantine, because the remains of two dead horses were also found.

Due to injuries and poor living conditions, the six horses from this second seizure were taken to the University of Tennessee animal hospital.

The couple are being held at the Knox County Detention Center on a $2,200 bond.
