Area HS teams win state tennis titles


Murfreesboro, Tenn. (WATE) - Webb and CAK both won state titles in high school tennis at the Blue Cross Spring Fling on Wednesday.

The Webb ladies won their fourth consecutive state championship with a 4-0 win over Lausanne.

Anna Catharine Feaster, Niki Rollhouser, Diana Grandas and Dinya Agarwal registered singles wins for the Lady Spartans.

The Webb ladies have now won seven state titles since 2002.

Webb's boys team won their third state championship since 2010.

The Spartans defeated University School of Jackson 4-2.

Lorenzo Rollhauser, Gabi Dagotto and Rajeev Jadhav earned singles wins for the Spartans while the Thomas Loaiza and Lorenzo Rollhauser earned a point in doubles.

The Christian Academy of Knoxville boys won the class A-AA state tennis title with a 4-3 win over Christ Presbyterian Academy.

Ethan Fussell, Josh Current and Franklin Murchison picked-up singles wins while Koi Royal and Josh Current earned a win in doubles.

CAK also won state titles in 2010 and 2011.
