KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Knoxville police officers found themselves in an early morning pursuit after they say a man carjacked a taxi cab at knife point.

Officers say Timothy Walker, 25, used a knife in an attempt to rob Randall Brown of his cash and vehicle just after 4:00 a.m. on Howard Baker Junior Boulevard.

Walker left the scene in the victim's cab and was soon spotted by police. He led officers on a pursuit that ended on World's Fair Park Drive.

Walker was arrested and charged with carjacking, evading arrest, and several traffic violations. He was then taken to the Knox County Detention Center.

Brown was treated for stab wounds to his arms.
