FRANKLIN (AP) - Authorities say 13 people were injured in a three-car crash on Highway 96 in Williamson County.

According to WSMV-TV, the accident occurred around 5:45 p.m. on Saturday when a minivan carrying 11 people clipped a vehicle, then crashed head-on into another car.

Officials say two adult passengers from the minivan and two adults from the vehicle it hit head-on were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville where they were listed in critical condition.

The remaining nine passengers from the minivan were also taken to Vanderbilt. The victims included seven 16-year-old girls, a 2-year-old child and a 1-year-old child. Their conditions were unknown.

Officials said appeared none of the minivan passengers were wearing proper restraints, including the children. They also don't believe the driver of the car the van struck head-on was wearing a seat belt.
