KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Knoxville Fire Department officials suspect a late night fire on the campus of Knoxville College was intentionally set.

Two students called 911 at midnight Tuesday to report a fire at the abandoned MLK building, located at 901 Knoxville College Drive.

The students tried unsuccessfully to put out the blaze with a fire extinguisher.

When fire crews arrived on scene, they found two fires in the stairwell of the nine-story building. It took them about 20 minutes to extinguish the flames.

Arson investigators determined the fire was intentionally set, but no arrests have been made.

No one was injured in the fire.
