GREENEVILLE (WATE) - The Knox County Sheriff's Office helicopter helped track down a lost hiker in the mountains of Greene County Tuesday morning.

The Greeneville Emergency and Rescue Squad said the woman called 9-1-1 Monday evening saying she was lost, disoriented and needed help.

The hiker told emergency workers she thought she was in the Bullen Hollow area near Margarette Falls, but wasn't sure.

The helicopter's flight crew helped find the woman by triangulating her location with her cell phone signal and then guiding rescuers to her location.

They reached her just before 7 a.m. Wednesday.

She was given food and water and is expected to be fine.
