Pankey heading to Kingston

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Former Kingston assistant coach Brian Pankey is returning to Roane County, only this time he'll be the head coach.

On Friday, a source close to the situation told WATE 6 Sports that Pankey is replacing Blair Harrison,  who announced last week he is taking a head coaching and administrative position at a high school in Georgia.

In 2012, Harrison took over for longtime Kingston head coach Vic King, who retired after nearly three decades leading the Yellow Jackets football program.

Harrison is a former player at Webb and a former Webb assistant coach.

Shortly after Harrison arrived, Pankey left Kingston to become head coach at Austin-East.

He is also a former Yellow Jackets player.
