Teen killed in suspected drunken driving crash near Clinton

CLINTON (WATE) - A 19-year-old Knoxville girl was killed in what officials believe was an alcohol-related car crash in Anderson County.

Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers say Justin Seeber, 23, was driving northbound on U.S. 25W Tuesday around 12:30 a.m., when the vehicle crossed into the southbound lane, ran off the road, and went into a ditch.

The car then exited the ditch, coming to a final rest on the roadway.

Passenger Amber Smith, 19 from Knoxville, was killed in the crash. Two other passengers, Tyler Galvin, 23, and Jeremy Myers, 22, were also injured.

Seeber was cited for driving with a revoked license and failure to exercise due care. Criminal charges are pending.

Troopers say Seeber and at least one of the passengers had been drinking alcohol.

No one was wearing a safety belt.
