KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A man was only slightly injured Sunday morning when he crashed into a tanker truck carrying fuel on Interstate 40.

Kody Brewer of Niota was driving in the left lane of I-40 East near Papermill Drive just before 10 a.m. when his white Chevrolet Cavalier hydroplaned. His car slid under a tanker, where it became pinned.

The driver of the tanker truck slowed to a stop and Brewer was able to leave his car with only minor injuries to his face.  He was transported to University of Tennessee Medical Center.

The crash reduced travel to one lane, but all lanes were reopened before 11 a.m.

Brewer will not face any charges.
