Sevierville increases amusement tax, lowers lodging tax

SEVIERVILLE (WATE) – Sevierville's city aldermen voted unanimously Monday night to increase the city's amusement tax by two percent.

The city plans to use the money raised from the tax increase for tourist-related expenses. 

Aldermen also passed a measured to decrease the lodging tax in the city from three percent to two percent. 

The votes were the third and final on both measures.
