KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A Knox County woman accused of handcuffing two children to kitchen cabinets and beating them makes her first court appearance Tuesday morning.

Jessica Cox, 36, waived her right to a formal arraignment.

Cox is out on a $25,000 bond after being arrested last Tuesday at her West Knox County home and charged with aggravated child abuse.

One of the victims told deputies that Cox handcuffed him to an upper cabinet while she hit him repeatedly on his feet with a rubber mallet and a rolling pin.

Cox was ordered to have no contact with the children or any other listed witnesses in the case.

She is due back in court on July 19.
