Scott County man found dead, police suspect foul play

NASHVILLE (WATE/WKRN) - Nashville police are investigating a fatal shooting after the body of a Scott County man was found in rural Davidson County Saturday.

The body of Fabian Martin, 36, was discovered by a passing motorist on Sulphur Creek Road near Eatons Creek Road at 9:50 a.m.

The investigation indicates that Martin was killed in the hours prior to the discovery of his body.

Martin's body was found near the driveway of a home on Sulphur Creek Road.

Police said Martin, of Helenwood, had recently been staying in the Nashville area.

Paul Campbell's sister lives in the home nearby. When he went to visit his sister Saturday evening, the first thing he saw was crime tape in her driveway.

"I almost had a heart attack when I saw that," Campbell said. "And right here in her driveway, that's what has me worried," said Campbell.

Police did not indicate any suspects were of interest to the case.

Anyone with information about Fabian Martin's murder is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME.
