PIONEER (WATE) - A Campbell County man who tried to take the law into his own hands ended up in handcuffs Tuesday.

Corey Shane Lindsay, 18, was arrested after shooting at a van he thought was being driven by a kidnapper who tried to abduct a local girl.

Six-year-old Skylee was picking honeysuckles in her front yard when a man in a dirty white van pulled up to her and attempted to take her, before fleeing the scene.

Later that evening, Lindsay saw a white van in the area, mistakenly thought it was that of the would-be kidnapper, and shot at the driver.

Instead, the van belonged to David Perkins, who was coming from work.

On Tuesday, Lindsay was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.
