2 plead guilty to bribing voters in Tellico Plains mayoral election

TELLICO PLAINS (WATE) - Two men in Monroe County have admitted to bribing voters during a 2011 election.

Chuck Hunt of Tellico Plains and Norman Lee Nichols of Madisonville admitted to contacting voters and exchanging cash for ballots between August and September of 2011.

The pair pled guilty to 14 combined charges of voter bribery.

The men were sentenced to two years of judicial diversion. They must serve 50 hours of community service and are forbidden from participating in the election process, except for voting.
