VONORE (WATE)  - Federal agents were at a Monroe County business Thursday executing a search warrant after a weekend fire.

A spokesperson for the Environmental Protection Agency said members of their criminal investigation division along with the FBI were on scene at ProTech Metal Finishing in Vonore.

Owner Mike Huddleston told 6 News there wasn't any indication of criminal activity and that the agents were there to make sure the clean-up of hazardous chemicals is being done properly.

The clean-up comes after chemicals were released when a fire broke out at the building on Sunday.

Heavy smoke kept firefighters from entering the building for about 30 minutes. Inside, firefighters found fire around some vats.

No one was injured.

ProTech is still open for business.

An EPA spokesperson said there was no immediate danger to the public.
