Mayor to attend ceremony in southeast Nashville

NASHVILLE (AP) - Mayor Karl Dean will participate in a groundbreaking ceremony on Monday for an expanded library, regional community center and park space at the city's new mixed-use complex in southeast Nashville.

The ceremony is scheduled for noon and will also include an announcement in conjunction with the Nashville Predators.

As part of the event, the Nashville Predators will host an outdoor summer festival from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., which will include inflatables, street hockey demonstrations and appearances by Predators' dancers and the team's mascot.

The festival is free and open to the public. There will also be free drinks, and food will be available for purchase from food trucks.
