ROCKWOOD (WATE) - The parents of a Rockwood toddler are facing charges after a witness saw the boy playing on train tracks and called police.

Rahab Jaramillo, 24, and Jonathan Noah White, 30, were arrested Monday on child abuse and neglect charges.

According to police, a witness saw the boy playing on railroad tracks behind the Dollar General Store on Gateway Avenue Saturday afternoon.

The witness took the boy off the tracks shortly before a train came through.

When police arrived, they went to the home of the boy's mother and were met with the child's grandmother, Darlene Hill.

Hill told police that she was unfit to watch the child because of her medications and also said that she had told the parents that information.

The officer tracked down Jaramillo, who admitted that Hill was not an acceptable babysitter. She said she had left the child with White, who drove away without a valid driver's license.

The Department of Children's Services was contacted as part of the investigation.
