KNOXVILLE (WATE) - It's not mandatory, but Tennessee basketball players might be wise to take a course in foreign relations.
Cuonzo Martin's team is making a habit of playing overseas.
UT forward Jarnell Stokes was named to the USA Under-19 national team on Tuesday and will begin practice immediately for the World Championships to be played in the Czech Republic starting in late June.
"Getting down to 12 is the real hard part because, in a lot of respects, we easily could have kept 14 or 15," USA head coach Billy Donovan said.
"There were some tough decisions, difficult decisions, but I think we feel overall that we have selected an athletic and versatile team. Our style of play will be an aggressive, up-tempo, running, pressing style."
Stokes isn't new to international play. He was a member of the USA Under-18 team that won a gold medal in Brazil last summer.
Josh Richardson played on an Athletes in Action team that toured Germany and Poland in 2012.
