Rockwood man killed in Friday morning collision

HARRIMAN (WATE) - A Roane County man is dead after a car crash Friday morning.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the accident occurred just before 11 a.m. on US Highway 27.

Authorities say a Ford Ranger being driven by 32-year-old James Perkins failed to yield to a cargo truck making a right turn.

The driver of that truck, 35-year-old Tony Brogdon Jr., swerved to avoid a collision, but still hit the passenger side of the Ranger.

The passenger in the Ranger, 70-year-old David Perkins, was killed. James Perkins was injured.

Brogdon is now facing charges for driving on a suspended license.
