LENOIR CITY (WATE) - A search for a missing boater on Fort Loudoun Lake by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency ended early Tuesday morning after his body was found near a boat launch.

Family members say Tony Heitzman, 75, went fishing on the lake around 9:00 a.m. Monday.

Officials said the family called authorities when the man did not come home from fishing.

Officers found the boat registered to Heitzman, but there is no sign of him.  They found his belongings on the boat ramp, with his boat nearby.

The family says Heitzman had not taken the boat out in three years.

Dive teams were out searching the lake with sonar and additional equipment from Chattanooga was transported to the scene for extra help.

Early Tuesday morning, crews found Heitzman's body near the Shady Grove Access near the Miller's Landing area on Lakeland Drive around 4 a.m.

A TWRA spokesperson said there were no signs of foul play.

The investigation is continuing.
