KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Thousands of people were briefly without power early Tuesday morning, but many may not have even noticed.

The outage happened just before 1:30 a.m. at a substation in North Knox County.

Residents in Halls, Gibbs, Corryton and Fountain City were affected.

According to KUB, a large bird got into a substation on the north side of the area, which feeds into seven other substations.

At the height of the outage, 19,000 people were without power.

KUB officials said it took less than 30 minutes to restore power.
