KNOXVILLE (WATE) - The Knox County Health Department will be spraying for mosquitoes in East Knoxville and South Knoxville Thursday night.

A new lab report has confirmed the presence of the West Nile Virus in mosquitoes trapped in the Milligan Street area of East Knoxville.

The virus has already been confirmed in the Kimberlin Heights Road area of South Knoxville.

Crews will spray for mosquitoes in both areas on Thursday between 9 p.m. and midnight.

The areas in East Knoxville include North Cherry Street, north of Magnolia Avenue, west of North Beaman Street and South of I-40. Also included are Lakeside and Kirkwood Streets and American Avenue.

In South Knoxville, officials will again spray around Arthur Harmon Road, Crossfield Drive, Konda Drive, Karla Drive, Kimberlin Heights Road and Twin Leaf Lane.
