KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A Knoxville driver was arrested Tuesday morning, but not before striking multiple stationary objects and crashing his car into a median.

Dispatchers began receiving calls just before 11 a.m. about an SUV with a broken rear window driving erratically on Rutledge Pike near Pull-A-Part.

Several minutes later, citizens called dispatchers to report an SUV matching that description that had struck several fixed objects on Millertown Pike near Loves Creek.

Witnesses then reported the vehicle getting onto I-40 from Rutledge Pike.

The SUV ultimately lost two tires and struck the concrete barrier on James White Parkway while exiting onto Cumberland Avenue and State Street.

Christopher Letner, 39, was arrested and charged with his first DUI, reckless driving, simple possession of a controlled substance and multiple traffic charges.
