NWS confirms EF2 twister touched down in Kentucky


HODGENVILLE, Ky. (AP) - National Weather Service forecasters have confirmed that a tornado struck in central Kentucky in LaRue County near Hodgenville during storms that swept through the state this week.

The News-Enterprise reports the twister hit Wednesday night at 10:25 p.m. and traveled 7 miles.

LaRue County Sheriff Merle Edlin said it left property damage along a 2- to 3-mile path about a quarter-mile wide. No injuries were reported.

One business -Rock Brothers Dairy Farm - lost five buildings and at least one cow during the storm. Chris Loyall, who is the son-in-law of owner Gary Rock, said cows had to be transported on Thursday to another farm for care while the family decides whether to rebuild.
