Deputy injured in standoff recovers from surgery

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - The Knox County sheriff's deputy shot during a standoff is still recovering in the hospital after undergoing another surgery Friday morning.

Sgt. Mike Ledbetter was on the scene of that standoff last Thursday when he was shot in the leg, damaging a major artery.

The suspect, 21-year-old Jordan Camp, was killed.

Sgt. Ledbetter spent some time in the ICU at UT Medical Center, but was moved to a private room earlier this week.

Officials say he is doing well, but there's still no word on when he'll be released.

The investigation into the standoff is continuing.
