MARYVILLE (WATE) – A Maryville man is in the hospital following a stabbing near his home.

Police and medics were dispatched to the 2300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in Maryville at around 9:50 p.m.

Officials with the Blount County Sheriff's Office say the victim, 27-year-old Reinaldo Velasquez, is in stable condition at UT Medical Center.

23-year-old Daniel Harrell is accused of stabbing Velasquez multiple times in the chest.
