KINGSTON (WATE) - A Roane County woman was arrested Friday after a grand jury indicted her for an alleged rape of a 12-year-old boy.

Elizabeth Ashley Jones Crisp, 33, was indicted June 17 on charges of raping the boy who lives in the Philadelphia area of Roane County.

The alleged incident happened sometime between November and December of 2012. The investigation began after authorities received a tip.

Crisp was taken into custody Friday.

"[Officers] swarmed the back and the front of [Crisp's house] and within 7 to 10 minutes, she was brought out in handcuffs and taken in," said neighbor Zach Ewton.

Crisp bonded out of jail Monday evening, leaving Ewton and other neighbors feeling uncomfortable.

"I'll just make sure I keep my kid out of the backyard and around me at all times for sure," said Ewton.

Investigators say Crisp has a significant criminal history, but most of it was drug related.

They say she knew the family of the child and had been staying with them at the time of the incident.

Crisp was appointed a public defender at an arraignment Monday morning. She is also facing a separate charge for theft.
