KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A Knoxville woman went to the hospital Sunday after her friend shot her in the leg.
Vivian Wright, 56, was visiting friends at a home on High Meadow Drive when Robert Wells, 69, showed her his handgun.
A report from the Knox County Sheriff's Department says Wells reloaded the gun and accidentally fired it. A bullet struck Wright in the leg.
Rural/Metro took Wright to UT Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators do not suspect foul play, but they are continuing to investigate.
