Deputy injured in standoff released from hospital


KNOXVILLE (WATE) - The deputy injured in a June standoff that left a suspect dead has been released from the hospital.

Sgt. Mike Ledbetter has been released from University of Tennessee Medical Center and is recovering at home.

He is undergoing physical therapy and is not slated to have any more surgery.

The sheriff's department said the deputy is still weak and that he and his wife are thankful for the support from the community.
