FARRAGUT (WATE) - Despite a forecast of heavy rain, a large crowd came out Thursday morning for Farragut's 26th annual Fourth of July parade.

Finding a perfect spot along Kingston Pike to watch the parade is key each year, but with rain in the forecast, prime real estate for viewing was never more important.

"We have our vans with the back lids up and a couple tents so we should be able to stay dry," said parade goer Keona Keeble.

Several other people had the same idea. Keeble says she arrived an hour and a half early to secure her place.

Keeble and her husband normally march in the parade every year, but chose this time to sit this one out. They just didn't expect to be doing so in the rain.

"It's a little discouraging," said Keeble. "I'm hoping a lot of people will still come out and support the parade. It's not too bad. It could be worse."

By the start of the parade the rain was still holding off, but Keeble says she was glad she didn't take any chances.

She has some advice for those who still have parades to attend this weekend.

"I would definitely have a tent, some towels and maybe an extra change of clothes for later," Keeble said.
