Man arrested for using fake grenade to scare club bouncer

A man was arrested at a Nashville nightclub after he pulled a grenade out of his pocket to instill fear in the victim.

According to an affidavit, the incident occurred around Midnight Friday

The victim, a bouncer at the club, told police that he witnessed the suspect, identified as Khari Whitehead, walk up to a woman and try to kiss her without consent as they were leaving the club.

Since the victim works security, he asked Whitehead to leave.

Whitehead then pulled a hand grenade out of his pocket and held it up to the victim, then put the grenade back in his pocket and left the scene.

When police arrived, they stopped Whitehead and located the grenade in his pocket.

Whitehead told police that he was walking up to people and filming their reactions to make a political statement.

Police discovered that the hand grenade was not functional or a real explosive.

Whitehead was arrested for aggravated assault and using a prohibited weapon for a hoax.

His bond was set at $10,000.
