The Sullivan County Sheriff's Office said a viewer tip led to the arrest of Daniel Greene in New Jersey.  According to the SCSO, Greene was a convicted sex offender who had failed to update his status on the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office arrested James Avery.   A resident called 9-1-1 after finding out Avery was on the "Most Wanted Roundup."  He was wanted for a violation of State Bond monitoring.

Half a dozen criminal suspects were arrested by local law enforcement Monday evening after a first-ever live broadcast event that aired on News Channel 11 WJHL-TV.

The "Monday's Most Wanted Roundup" allowed viewers to phone in tips after seeing almost three dozen mug shots shown on air and here on WJHL.Com.

The suspects were men and women wanted for criminal prosecution on a variety of charges by the Sullivan County and Washington County Tennessee Sheriff's Office.

Some of the people featured tried different tactics to avoid arrest, officers said.

One man jumped from a second floor window when he discovered that deputies, acting on a tip, were waiting outside.   He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a sore hip.

Another suspect even tried to call the "Most Wanted" tips line and convince officers they were looking for the wrong man.

"The officers had the house surrounded, and he wouldn't come to the door," said Captain Larry Denny, Washington County Sheriff's Office.   "He actually called in (to the in-studio phone bank) and I talked to him on the phone.   I was actually able to hear as the officers came in the door and yelled at him to let them see his hands."

Monday's Most Wanted is a regular segment on News Channel 11 news in which multiple local law enforcement agencies feature criminal suspects with outstanding warrants for their arrest.
