Meeting planned to discuss World's Fair Park pedestrian bridge

Posted:

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - The City of Knoxville is planning to talk with the public next week about a proposed pedestrian bridge into World's Fair Park.

It would give pedestrians a path from 11th Street in the Fort Sanders neighborhood into the park lawn, making it easier to cross from the Knoxville Museum of Art and get over the railroad tracks there.

The idea has been around since at least 2009.

The public meeting would only discuss the design. City council still hasn't decided whether to build it.

That meeting will be held Tuesday July 16 at 5:30 p.m. at the L&N STEM school.
