DANDRIDGE (WATE) - Three Dandridge residents were rescued Monday night after their boat was swamped with water on Douglas Lake in Jefferson County.

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency officials say Craig Manning, Craig Manning, Jr. and Kelly Phillips were fishing near Henderson Island Wildlife Refuge around 10:45 p.m. when the motor in their boat shorted out.

The boat slowed down suddenly and water got into the boat, causing it to capsize.

The rescue squad and TWRA rescued the three and retrieved their boat.

Officials say the boaters were not wearing life preservers. They did not require any medical treatment.
