HELENWOOD (WATE) - Two people in Scott County were arrested Tuesday after a TBI investigation revealed that they fraudulently registered voters ahead of the 2012 election.

Christina Botts, 37, and her husband, Carrie Botts, 29, were arrested Tuesday night after a Scott County grand jury indicted them on multiple counts of fraud.

Christina Botts faces 13 counts of illegal voter registration fraud. Carrie was indicted on one count of illegal voter registration fraud.

A TBI investigation found Christina registered 43 voters in Sept. 2012 and Carrie registered one person and forged a signature on the voter registration form.

The couple was changing address information so it would appear that the voters lived within the city limits of Huntsville.

The couple was taken into custody at a relative's home in Helenwood.

Christina was booked with a $25,000 bond. Carrie's bond was set at $1,500.
