LOUISVILLE (WATE) - A Blount County man was arrested Wednesday night after a local animal group found malnourished horses on his property.

James Crafton Ford, Jr., 46, was arrested and charged with animal cruelty.

The charges come after an investigation by the Blount County SPCA found seven severely malnourished horses on his property.

The horses were taken to University of Tennessee Veterinary Hospital for treatment.

Horse Haven took several of the horses to their facility for rehabilitation.
