KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Young Williams Animal Center is making it less expensive to take home a feline friend.

The center took in over 300 adults cats and over 400 kittens last month.

In order to find homes for the animals, the shelter is lowering the cost of adoption.

Kittens can be adopted for $50 through the end of July, down from the normal $150 price.

Adult cat fees have been lowered from $50 to just $10.

Every adopted cat will receive a vet checkup, be spayed or neutered, and given some vaccinations.

Young Williams says the high number of strays spurs from a lack of cats being spayed or neutered.
