Suspect injures himself during Fountain City pharmacy robbery

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A Fountain City pharmacy was robbed Thursday night by a man who may have injured himself in the process.

Employees of the CVS, 4864 North Broadway, say a thin, white man held up the pharmacy counter with a black handgun.

Witnesses say the suspect jumped over the counter, demanding pills from the pharmacist before taking an unknown amount of Xanax. The suspect then jumped back across the counter, apparently injuring himself upon impact.

Witnesses say the suspect ran out of the store with a limp.

Authorities say the man was dressed in a green hoodie, dark pants, bandana, and glasses.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Knoxville Police Department at (865) 215-7212.
