Search for missing motorcycle leads to theft, drug charges for Knoxville man

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A Knoxville man is facing multiple charges after police responded to his home for a theft and found drugs in his home.

Around 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Knox County and Blount County deputies went to a home on Woods-Smith Road to find a suspect wanted for questioning in Blount County.

Outside the home, deputies found a motorcycle that had been reported stolen.

Joshua Derek Thomas, 26, answered the door and refused to consent to a search of his home.

After obtaining a search warrant, deputies found a handgun that had been reported stolen as well as six vials of a clear liquid believed to be steroids inside.

Thomas was arrested and charged with two counts of theft and one count of drug possession.

He was booked on an $11,000 bond.
