SEVIERVILLE (WATE) - A local restaurant and the community is supporting a Sevier County boy who was diagnosed with cancer last year.

We've been following the story of 12-year-old Regen Morris for months.

Regen is battling a rare form of brain cancer called anaplastic astrocytoma.

The fundraiser, held Monday and Tuesday, is part of the Rootin' for Regen campaign.

The owners of the Outback Steakhouse in Sevierville are giving 15 percent of profits to Regen's family for medical bills.

"He is still recovering at home.  Slow progress, but he does seem to be a little stronger, and just working through, getting used to life with him at home and all the adjustments that has brought," said Regen's father, Dan Morris, about his son's health.

This fundraiser continues Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
