4 injured in 8-car crash on I-75N

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Knoxville police said an 8-car crash sent four people to the hospital on Tuesday night.

According to the Knoxville Police Department, it happened just before 6 p.m. on I-75 northbound near the Emory Road exit.

A witness said a van in the wreck was forced sideways, and it rolled over onto the hood of another car before coming to rest in the exit lane.

Four people were taken via Rural/Metro to UT Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver that caused the initial impact, 36-year-old Donna Sanford, was taken into custody on scene for driving on a revoked license and no proof of insurance.  Additional charges are pending.
