Funeral services set for Alcoa Police Chief Ken Burge

MARYVILLE (WATE) - Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday for Alcoa Police Chief Ken Burge, who passed away Sunday after battling a lengthy illness.

Burge was 62.

Family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Smith's Funeral Home in Maryville. A service will immediately follow.

The burial will be held in Fairview Heights, Illinois.

Burge joined the police department as chief in September 2004. That was the last chapter in a police career that spanned over 39 years.

Burge is survived by his wife Bettiann, a son and daughter, and a grandson.
